I am a Chartered Accountant with extensive international experience across consulting, banking, multinational corporations, and high-growth startups, continually seeking new challenges to drive innovation and growth in finance and technology.
After completing my Articles at PwC, I had the opportunity to work abroad in both Indonesia and the Netherlands, which allowed me to gain valuable international experience.
As a newly qualified CA, I wanted to explore different career paths within the field. I started off in consulting, spending time at Aspen Pharmacare and KPMG. This gave me a solid foundation and a deeper understanding of different industries.
Curiosity led me to the world of banking, where I joined FNB Private Wealth as a Structured Lending Specialist. It was an exciting opportunity to delve into the financial side of the banking sector and expand my skillset. In 2011, I made the decision to move back to the Netherlands.
I joined Liberty Global, a prominent cable and Internet business operating across Europe. This role allowed me to further develop my expertise in finance within a multinational company. Seeking new challenges, I then joined Uber in 2013. My role involved setting up the finance function for all business activities outside of the US. It was a thrilling experience to be part of a rapidly growing company and contribute to its global expansion.
In 2015, I returned to South Africa and joined Pernod Ricard as the Head of Finance Operations. This role allowed me to combine my financial expertise with my passion for technology. More recently, I joined Yoco in 2017 as the Head of Finance. I was later promoted to the role of VP of Customer Operations, where I had the opportunity to lead and oversee various aspects of the business.
Throughout my career, I have continuously sought out new challenges and opportunities to grow both professionally and personally. I am excited to see what the future holds and to continue making a positive impact in the world of finance and technology.
